Every time I start off with a recipe I have the best intentions. Follow it to the letter check the measurements twice etc. Something in my head goes how would x taste instead of y. Before I know it, x is in there instead of y. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. But I can use it to tweak the recipe next time. Flapjacks, I started off with a Mary Berry's Fast Flap jack recipe as a starting point. 225gm Butter 225gm Demerara Sugar 275gm Rolled Oats 75gm Golden Syrup Put the butter in the pan first followed by the sugar and golden syrup. This order helps stop the sugar burning as the butter should melt first. Slowly heat. Watch it like a hawk, stir to incorporate all ingredients and to stop it burning. You are just melting not cooking. When fully melted pour in the oats and mix fully to coat the oats in buttery sugary goodness. Then pour into an 12x9 (inches) oven proof dish or similar and level out using a fork. Push down a bit so it all sticks toge.

I have been using the oven for almost a year now. It just required a few finishing touches to make it look complete. Sourcing a door was a pain as the opening was not built with a door in mind. Bad idea in hindsight, but not going to rebuild it because of the door. The other idea was to cut the bricks to fit an existing metal door i.e. just bodge it to make it fit. But their was another option, get a door fabricated to our specifications. After a few searches on the internet I found a Blacksmith who had already made a bread oven door to replace one for a house refurbishment. So the initial design was based on that and then resized to fit our oven. After drawings to show the design of the door and dimensions We had a few 'finishing off' options to choose from at an extra cost 1) Hot dip galvanising. After dipping will leave a grey finish that will be maintenance free. 2) High temperature matt black paint. This will need to be recoated from time to time. 3) Allo.

The JP12A is the stainless version they make. It cost $107 including delivery from The Netherlands.The raw aluminum JP12 is $48. There is no white coated model. Their current url is superdoughhook.com.
