Welcome to Rich Textures Crochet! Today we are going to learn how to crochet this easy children’s crochet hat!

Shortly after I published the pattern for the Easy Winter Beanie – Free Crochet Pattern I received a few requests to provide sizing adjustments! I am excited to say that here you will find six new children’s sizes ranging from premie to toddler to child.

What yarn should I use to crochet a children’s hat:

Both options are super soft for a baby or toddler crochet hat! I have paired this yarn with a 5.5 mm crochet hook.

You will find the free crochet pattern for the Easy Children’s Crochet Hat down below, however if you would like the convenient ad free PDF you may purchase it from my Etsy and Ravelry Shops linked below:

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon!
Until next time, happy crocheting!

Crochet Baby Hat Sizes And How Much Yarn You Need

Babby hats come in many different sizes, check out this size guide below, starting from premature babies to larger sizes.

Measuring a baby’s head for a crochet beanie is a straightforward process.

It’s always a good idea to measure the baby’s head before starting your project to ensure that the hat will fit and it will keep the little ears warm.

Once you have the measurement of the baby’s head circumference, you can use it as a guide to choose the appropriate size for your crochet beanie pattern or to adjust the pattern to fit perfectly.
