Materials for a Small Crochet Poinsettia

You will only need a small amount of yarn to make your own poinsettias. To be 100% honest, I don’t even know the name of the red yarn I used. That’s what I love about little projects like this – you can use up unnamed yarn you have in your stash!

What I recommend doing, then, is just finding some red, green, and yellow yarn (worsted weight) that YOU have and going for it!

For reference, the green yarn I used was Caron Simply Soft, and the yellow was Red Heart Super Saver. The flower and leaves are made with a G/4mm hook, and the centers with a D/3mm hook.

Make a Snuggly Poinsettia Blanket

Ready to cozy up by the fire or watch your favorite Christmas movie? Crochet this lap blanket with poinsettias in each square! The free pattern from Red Heart Yarn uses a granny square-like construction, which means you can take this project with you as you work on the pieces. Then join the squares with single crochet and add a final border. Red Heart Poinsettia Throw from Yarnspirations
