Create Beautiful Round Crochet Dishcloths: Free Pattern and Tutorial
When you make a dishcloth, round or otherwise, 100% cotton yarn is a must. It’s more hygienic than acrylic (I’ve heard horror stories of moldy acrylic dishcloths 🤢), and much cheaper than wool. Plus, cotton won’t melt like acrylic, so you don’t have to worry about accidentally touching a hot stove.
For the round crochet dishcloth pattern, I reached for Lily Sugar’n Cream yarn. It’s durable and machine washable, so your crocheted dishcloths will look great for a long time.
Lily Sugar’n Cream is one of my favorite cotton yarns, and I use it all the time. Below, you can see the Blossom Dishcloth with some of its besties — the Easiest Double Crochet Dishcloth, the Farmhouse Dishcloth, and the Berry Cabled Dishcloth. All four of these crochet dishcloth patterns are made with Sugar n Cream yarn. My Carrot Stitch Washcloth uses the same yarn, but it didn’t match the blue-green photo vibe.
For a crochet hook, I grabbed the J 6.0 mm from my WeCrochet Dots set. You’ve probably seen these hooks all over IG and FB because they’re (a) adorbs, (b) similar to the popular Clover Amour hooks, and (c) reasonably priced. A set of nine colorful, ergonomic polka dot hooks will set you back about $25, which is not too shabby! I’ve loved mine so far.
The Blossom Dishcloth pattern is easy peasy, lemon squeezy, so you’re good with standard notions. Grab some scissors to trim your yarn and a tapestry needle to invisible join and weave in those ends.
Lily Sugar’n Cream is a #4 worsted weight cotton yarn. Luckily, it’s pretty easy to find a substitute if Sugar n Cream isn’t available in your area. Dishie from WeCrochet is another of my favorite kitchen cotton yarns. You could also sub Premier Home Cotton, Lion Brand 24/7 cotton (which is mercerized), or any other 100% worsted weight cotton yarn.

There are lots of square dishcloth patterns out there but there’s something really lovely about a round crochet dishcloth. This crochet round dishcloth pattern is a very easy pattern.
It has a little touch of texture, making it great for washing dishes. You could also use this round dishcloth as a facecloth or as a pan or pot holder!
You can make this pattern using one solid color…
Or, if don’t mind weaving in more ends, you can easily make this pattern with multiple colors for a stunning striped dishcloth…
You can also use Ombre yarn, which is a skein of yarn that changes colors gradually so you can include multiple colors without having to weave in any extra ends!
The pattern is very quick to make – you can crochet this round dishcloth in 30 – 45 minutes and it uses just a small amount of yarn (approx 50 yds). Making it a great “quick-make” project or a useful “scrap-busting” pattern.
