BUT I would NOT feel comfortable doing that then writing out a pattern. Because I NOW KNOW who designed and crocheted the actual Snoods worn in The Netflix series, Wednesday.

I’m making these for a friend’s daughters and not SELLING them.

And I have been asked and begged and assured I will be paid a LOT of money to make just one!

I already have written out and provided a few graph patterns for one of the checked crocheted sweaters you can read about it here

Choosing the right yarn and hook

Selecting the Right Yarn:

  • Weight: Yarn comes in a variety of weights, from super fine to super bulky. For your first crochet snood, opt for a medium-weight yarn, such as a worsted weight (4) yarn. This type of yarn is versatile and easy to work with, allowing you to create a snood with a comfortable thickness.
  • Fiber: Different types of fibers are used to make yarn, each with unique characteristics. Acrylic yarn is a popular choice for beginners because it is affordable, easy to care for, and available in a wide range of colours. If you want to make a snood for the winter, consider using wool yarn, which is warm and cosy. Cotton yarn is another option and is perfect for creating breathable summer accessories.
  • Texture: Experiment with different yarn textures, such as smooth, fluffy, or textured, to add dimension and visual interest to your crochet projects. As a beginner, look for yarn that is easy to work with, has good stitch definition, and doesn't split easily.

Choosing the Right Crochet Hook:

Remember, there is no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to choosing yarn and hooks. Feel free to experiment with different options to find the ones that suit your specific project and personal preferences.

5 Things You Should Avoid

  1. Don’t use too lightweight yarn for a snood, as it will not provide enough warmth.
  2. Avoid crochet hooks that are too large or too small for your following pattern.
  3. Don’t pull the yarn too tightly when crocheting to avoid making your stitches unevenly sized.
  4. Avoid rushing through a pattern, as it will only result in mistakes and an unsatisfactory product.
  5. Feel free to rip out a few stitches if you have made a mistake- everyone makes them and it’s all part of the learning process!

Now that you know what to do and what to avoid, you’re ready to start crocheting your own snood! Don’t forget to take breaks when needed, and be patient!
